Exhibition Statement

I always liked to paint water would it be a river or an ocean. The reflections, changes on water surface, flickering of light fascinate me. It is not easy to capture it on a canvas and that makes it an appealing challenge.

My other favourite subject is a human body. 

Regatta gives me an opportunity to unite in single space water and men. 

Rowers are coming all over the world after a year of training to Henley Royal Regatta. They are coming with their families. They are given one chance either to win or to loose. I was trying to capture emotional and physical intensity of an effort to win. At some point rowers and boats becoming one being.

New painting: She and her guards

I wanted to make a painting with a single dominant lady-child figure that represents fragility, innocence and vulnerability. I wanted her not be be reminiscent of any specific historical period.

Despite the contrast between black, white and red, I would like her inner calm and confidence to come through
